University students respond--Some were SHOCKED!!

Hello Fellow Re-Creators,

Remember last month, I told you I was asked to speak to 2 university classes.
Yesterday was the day I talked with them about Domestic Violence and the

link with Child Abuse.

I'll share a few of their comments here today.

Kristina Weiss said: "I did not know that so many people are being hurt, especially in such large numbers. What really shocked me was the fact that children all the way up to seniors are being abused!"

Halie Erdman commented: "That not only adult women are abused, that abuse affects everyone."

Ryann Frank echoes Halie: "Abuse happens in all age groups."

Sarah Frazier sees the crux of the problem: "We need to stop the problem at a local level before we can even think about preventing it at a national level."

A student who remained anonymous summarized the whole presentation: "Impact of abuse of partners on children. Even just arguing/verbal aggressiveness and what it does to the children."

And finally, another student remaining anonymous: "Partner abuse make children 1500 times more likely to be abused. It was useful to learn that you must work with the family and not just a child."

As future leaders, I was impressed with the students concerns....more about that next time.

Transformational Journaling is the system I used as a professional counselor with my clients to help them heal. It works with domestic violence victims, perpetrators, and children.
