Spirituality and how it applies in Transformational Journaling
is a question raised by some readers. This can be a touchy
subject because there are so many religious and spiritual beliefs.
Before I share my viewpoint, I want you to know this is a
common issue that individuals face when they enter any
type of recovery or change system. Some people go to
12-step programs because they have a spiritual base
while others stay away for the same reason. There
are other groups similar to 12 step programs that
remove all references to spirituality. On my own
recovery path, I met many people who felt the
only way to heal was through a specific church--
this includes many denominations.
For me, spirituality is a very personal issue.
Because everyone has different belief systems,
and it may be different from mine, I work with
each person individually on this issue. Some people
want to include spirituality in their healing process
and others don’t. This is all part of Re-Creating
your life through conscious choice.
What is most important is healing from your
dysfunctional family issues whether it be an
alcoholic or substance abusing parent,
child abuse, or your own addictions.
Transformational Journaling works for
any healing issues. You include your own
personal preferences for spirituality or non-spiritual
involvement in your soul transformation.
